Local Area

The region has an abundance of places of historic interest, including renowned chateaux and vineyards. This area has something for everyone to enjoy.

 

St Emillion, BordeauxMonbazillac and Bergerac offer world renowned wine tasting and Tracey, the owner, can arrange trips on guests behalf.

There are several family and dog friendly local vineyards who we have close links to, including; Feely Wines, who offer a range of wine experiences on Caro and Sean Feely's organic, biodynamic family vineyard.

​

The area has a large network of quiet lanes, perfect for walking and cycling. We have maps and a choice of routes for guests.

​

Enjoy the excellent local golf at Chateau Vigiers, 4 miles away, which also has a renowned 1* Michelin restaurant.

​

The area has an abundance of traditional markets, including the beautiful Sunday morning Issigeac market. 

Foies Gras is a speciality of the region and at visit to the Ferme de Sirguet is recommended.

There are many medieval castles and villages to explore and enjoy a leisurely lunch; Monpazier and Monflanquin both of which were voted some of the most beautiful villages in France. Castles are in abundance and includes Castelnaud

Foodies will love the area as there is a variety of places to eat, ranging from the local cafe Code Bar in Sigoules to two local Michelin star restaurants, Les Frescques at Chateau Vigiers and Tour des Vents in Monbazillac.

Canoeing on the Dordogne, is a must and is a great experience for all the family. Take a picnic for the tiny river beaches as you gently travel downstream.                                   

Bergerac is a lovely old town for shopping. You can also enjoy; go-karting, paint balling and indoor bowling.

​

Eymet is a quaint little Medieval town to explore with a good choice of restaurants.

​
