The Kimble family, June 

We stayed at Acabanes at the beginning of June and it was incredible. The house and grounds were immaculate. The land around the house is perfect for children, with our young son free to safely run around in the extensive garden area. This was helped by the fact that the pool area is slightly separated from the garden. The pool itself is a great size, and was usable even on cooler days thanks to it being heated. The rooms themselves were all a really good size. Our group consisted of one couple with a 2 year old, who had their pick of two areas with a separate kids room and family style bathroom, and 2 grown up adults who could both have their own en suite rooms on a different floor of the house each with its own terraced area. We've stayed in a number of self catering holiday lets, and have never experienced one more well appointed. Everything we needed was provided. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cooking equipment, going above and beyond the standard you'd usually experience. Two barbecues made it really enjoyable to stay in of an evening, and if you had a bigger group than ours this would not be an issue at all, with multiple fridges available for you to stock up. There were more than enough sun loungers for all of us, with space for the group to sit by the pool or in the gardens dependent on what people fancied. Perfect if you're in a bigger group. There were also multiple bikes for adults and children, and helmets too, all of which were of a really high standard. For children the place was incredibly well suited, with all the equipment you could possibly need from the more standard stair gates and cots (there were 3 available when we stayed, meaning we could choose where our child slept), to high chairs, and even travel booster seats which we could take out when we went out for a meal. There were also books, games and toys to all keep young ones entertained, though with the outside space and pool these were rarely needed. Apart from the wendy house which was a huge hit! On top of the place itself, Tracey the host couldn't have been more hospitable. She did a shop for us to be available on our arrival which having driven for almost 10 hours straight was a godsend. She then came round the day after we arrived to talk us through how everything worked which was really useful. Also the recommendations she gave for meals and trips were all brilliant. Including the cook Matthew who prepared some lovely ready made meals for our arrival. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The wine tasting at Feely vineyard was enjoyed by the whole family. The surrounding villages offer plenty of options if you want to have lunch out or just fancy a break from the pool. For dinner we had an amazing 6 course tasting menu with wine for 38 Euros as well as a trip to a michelin star restaurant (perfect for a night without the kid/s). All in all we couldn't recommend this venue more highly, whether you have children with you or you're a group of adults.

The property, the grounds, its location and all the facilities and equipment are all brilliant. My family and I, together with my sisters family and my mum, 10 of us in total had an amazing two weeks in the villa. Tracey was absolutely amazing to deal with and her contact with me, information she provides and suggestions of things to see and do were simply the best I have ever experienced. We had a wonderful two weeks in the villa, swimming in the pool, bike riding and exploring the surrounding countryside. Be sure to visit Chateau Thenac at the top of the hill, we did a wine tour and tasting which was excellent. Thanks Tracey for making our holiday in your villa so wonderful and relaxing, you really have thought of everything!
