Italian Des Arcades - 3 Rue Loup, Eymet square – 13 min drive south – 7 miles. Wide menu range, carafes of local wine, pizzas, good for family groups/children, opens lunchtime 12 noon and evenings from 7pm. Famille Moutier - Cape, 24240 Monestier

On left hand side on D18 as travel towards Chateau Vigiers. Pleasant dining room, traditional Perigordian food (duck, fois gras). Relaxed Sunday lunch for 35 euros, which includes aperitif, wine with meal and digestif. 5 min drive, good for family groups, pre-booking required a few months in advance for large groups, cash only  05 53 57 92 41

Le Lion D’or - 24240 Saussignac. Located in the middle of Saussignac, and a lovely cycle ride. Menu du jour 14euros. Evening menus more expensive

Ma Maison

10 Avenue Grammont, 47800 La Sauvetat-du-dropt.  15 min drive south. Small, intimate dining room plus a lovely courtyard for summer dining, early booking necessary. Owned by Didier (chef) and his English wife Louise, the waitress 05 53 94 33 42

Chateau Vigiers - 4.4 miles, 5 min drive

Turn right at bottom of road and travel for 4 miles and The Chateau is located on the right.

Le Chai brasserie - good for leisurely lunches and evening meals, on terrace or inside with a set lunch menu for 30 euros, also croque monsieur/frites/omelettes for 11 euros. Lovely for afternoon teas and aperitifes on terrace outside main Chateau overlooking holes 9 and 18.

L’Imparfait   

 05 53 57 47 92 20 min drive. Located in the historic old town of Bergerac - travel over old bridge, turn left and park on cobbled car park next to river, walk up towards old town – restaurant is signposted. Classic French cuisine and service

La Cour d’Eymet

 05 53 22 72 83 15 minute drive. 32 Boulevard National, Eymet, on D933 the road from Bergerac south to Marmande, on right hand side.

Intimate restaurant, good food and service, don’t be put off by location on road.

La Tour des Vents – Michelin Star

24240 Moulin de  Malfourat  05 53 58 30 10 Situated just off D933, right at top of the zigzag hill to the south of Bergerac, on road to Monbazillac and signposted from road. Classic French cuisine. Good for lunch terrace dining in Summer with panoramic views, set menus vary from 32 to 65 euro, good to pre book and request a table at edge of terrace for the views. Booking advised, especially in summer for the terrace. For parties of 6 or more, enquire for availability in “La Rotunde” – round complimentary private room with panoramic views over Bergerac. Great place to eat on way to the airport as only a 10 min drive from airport
