Gardens

The gardens extend to over 3 acres, with a fenced lower garden of two acres and an additional unfenced garden of an acre (ideal for golf practice). Within the lower garden there are numerous activities; trampoline; play area; basketball; badminton; table tennis; football goals and boules.

Sauna and Gym

Adjacent to the pool is a sauna gym room with a toilet and shower.

The centre piece of the room is an Infrared Corner Sauna (1.52m Wide x 1.18m Deep x 1.95m High) ideal for 4 people. See below for the benefits of infrared saunas.

For added relaxation and serenity the light therapy system allows a choice of six colours to suit your mood. The sauna also includes integral mini-spotlights in the ceiling and on the exterior overhang.

The sound system consists  of a CD player and ceiling mounted speakers, controlled with a remote control unit.
The room is also equipped with an exercise bike and a York 925 Multi-gym.

Cycling

For budding Tour de France enthusiasts there are six adult Raleigh bikes with front suspension (three ladies Mantis and three men's Mantaray bikes of differing frame sizes), suitable for ages 11 upwards. These can be used to explore the surrounding countryside and vineyards (to sample some of the local produce!), on quiet country roads with stunning views. There are also two small bikes; one is suitable for a child aged up to 5; and the other has five gears and will suit a child up to 10yrs. To accommodate younger children we have two bike seats and a trailer bike.

Benefits of Infrared Saunas

Why Infrared?

Infrared heat is simply a form of energy that is directly transmitted onto objects because of its specific wavelength. It has nothing to do with ultraviolet light which gives you sunburn and damages your skin.

Where conventional saunas transfer heat by circulating hot air, thus warm your body from your head, the infrared heat rays warm your body directly. This allows an in-depth heat in a more pleasant temperature of 110-150°F (43 - 66°C), thus providing more health benefits and a highly enjoyable and comfortable environment.

Conventional saunas need high air temperatures to pull impurities from the body, but infrared heated saunas can directly penetrate up to 45 mm inside the body. Impurities can be pushed out using lower and more comfortable temperatures.

Cleanse Your Body By Flushing Out The Toxins
In today's lifestyles, most of us don't actively perspire on a daily basis. Numerous medical studies show that deep sweating has multiple health benefits. Regular bathing in a Far-Infrared Sauna provides the benefits derived from a deep sweat.

In the heat of a sauna the core body temperature begins to rise and the blood vessels dilate, causing increased blood flow. As heat from the blood moves towards the skin and the core body temperature rises, the body's nervous system sends signals to the millions of sweat glands in the skin. As the sweat glands are stimulated, the body begins to perspire.

Sweat production is primarily for cooling and is composed mostly of water. But deep sweating in a sauna can help reduce levels of lead, copper, zinc, nickel and mercury - all toxins commonly picked up from our environment. At the same time, skin is cleansed and dead skin cells are replaced, keeping your skin in good condition.

Perspiration rinses bacteria out of the epidermal layer and sweat ducts. Cleansing of the skin's pores improves the capillary circulation and gives the skin a soft and beautiful appearance.

Soothe Aches & Pains In Muscles & Joints

Under high heat, the body releases endorphins - the body's naturally produced pain relieving chemical. Endorphins can have a mild and enjoyable tranquilising effect and the ability to quell the pain of arthritis, or muscle soreness from an intense physical workout.

Body temperature rises from the heat of the sauna, causing blood vessels to dilate and circulation to increase. The increased blood flow accelerates the body's natural healing process - soothing aches and pains and speeding the healing of cuts and bruises.

Following sporting activity, or other physical exertions, use the heat of the sauna for muscle relaxation. The action of the sauna helps to reduce muscle tension and eliminate lactic acid and other toxins.
