Retractable Swimming Pool Cover
The retractable
telescopic cover measures 15x7m and fully encloses the pool. It heats the pool using the greenhouse effect,
meaning the water temperature is significantly higher than other
pools in the area, therefore
the pool can be used from Easter to the end of October.
Also, the pool can be
used in adverse weather. To enter the pool there are sliding doors at
each end and one end section can be tilted and stored under the roof
sections, allowing
easy access whilst protecting the swimmer from the elements.
The
height of the cover rises from just under 1 metre at the shallow end to
approximately 1.5 metres. At the
deep end of the pool there is an area of approximately
7x3m which can
be used as a small seating area and can accommodate several sun loungers, with
restricted headroom.
During the summer months this cover can be easily wheeled back
during the day by
two
adults, to restore the pool to an open air facility.
It is also a safety feature, as when covered access to the water can only be gained
through lockable doors.Entry to the pool area is only
possible via doors/gates that are lockable.
This has been achieved so as not to spoil the outlook of the
pool area or of the villa. To add to the safety features we
have added a lifebuoy and pool hook.
For shade there are two large (3.5 metre)
sun umbrellas which can be positioned through 360 degrees.
