Food and wine are at the heart of the French culture and in this regard the Dordogne is no exception. The quality and variety of cuisine can be viewed at any local markets. The conversion of this produce into mouth watering inexpensive meals is a joy to behold.

Within easy reach of the villay are numerous restaurants to suit all budgets. There are also a number of excellent restaurants where you can experience French cuisine at its best. A brief selection of these are listed below;

Chateau des Vigiers Restaurants - 4 miles

The brasserie "Le Chai" is situated in an old wine making building. With its spacious restaurant and magnificent terrace overlooking the lake and the golf course, guests can enjoy regional specialities as well as lighter snacks in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

For formal dining, guests can enjoy dining in "Les Fresques". Highly inventive French cuisine accompanied by friendly, discreet service.

Markets

Weekly markets are the best place to find fresh, local produce, fruit and vegetables and the many regional ingredients required in gourmet cuisine. The market’s other role as a meeting place underplayed: sauntering past attractively laden stalls, bumping into friends and acquaintances are all part of the charm.

Below is a selective list of the markets in the area
